Emotion Triggered by Audio
There’s an album I’ve been listening to lately that I listened to a lot last year at Christmas. I think that this combined with it getting darker in the evenings (even as little as that’s been happening lately) has been giving me a kind of emotional deja vu (is that the right description?) for that warm, wintery feeling you get when you’re curled up somewhere warm and safe and it’s cold outside. And I love it. Winter is absolutely my favourite time of year.
I’m going to buy big boots and a warm jacket and go recording wintery sounds in the Cheshire countryside when it (inevitably) snows this year.
Does anyone else ever experience this or anything similar with music or sounds (i.e. some kind of emotional memory tied to audio)?
